Strange Attractors: an R experiment about maths, recursivity and creative coding

Strange Attractors: an R experiment about maths, recursivity and creative coding

Abstract

Iteration is a key feature of every programing language and mastering it will make your life easier. In this talk we will learn how to combine C++ and R: it will help you to manage recursion efficiently and to eliminate bottlenecks in your code. We will also talk briefly about creative coding as well as strange attractors: a beautiful mathematical creature that can produce awesome images.

About the speaker

Antonio Sánchez Chinchón is a mathematician and works as a data scientist at Telefónica, where he tries hard to extract value from data every day inside the Big Data and Innovation team of the company. He is the creator of Fronkonstin, an unclassifiable blog of mathematical experiments, data science, data art and R programming. Antonio is a professor at ESTALMAT (a program run by the Royal Spanish Academy of Sciences, oriented to guide and continuously stimulate the exceptional mathematical talent of young students), IE and EOI.
